Ju-Jitsu

Feb/March Journal Article:

The 2009 season seems to have gone in a flash. The past 12 months have been very successful with our student numbers increasing each week.

A special thanks goes to our Sensei Rick Cefai and all the other instructors including Trevor Simpson, Ray Bligh, Ray Borg, Paul Gava, Joshua Borg, Anthony Oldfield and recently Faisal Sahib for giving their time on the mat. I would like to congratulate Anthony Oldfield, Joshua Borg and Faisal Sahib, who were recently appointed as our new Junior Instructors. They have been doing a fantastic job by providing assistance to the other Instructors.

I would like to thank Bev Dubos (Secretary) and Margaret Borg (Treasurer) who control the front desk where they keep a controlling eye on all the students and Instructors - A big thank you.

Well done to all the Instructors and students involved in the Wenty Leagues Ju- Jitsu Clubs’ two demonstration shield recently at Our Lady Queen of Peace School and Greystanes Public School. Thanks to Rick Cefai, Ray Namoi, Joshua Borg, Wade Mangin, Delton Keepa(Chief), Cassandra Case, Jarod Drew, Paul Gava and Shivansh Agnihotre. We received great feedback on how well all our students participated in these two excellent demonstrations.

On Sunday 13th December 09 we held our Ju-Jitsu Presentation with over 40 trophies being presented to our best students. The major awards winners included Anthony Oldfield, receiving a Junior Black Belt Award and Paul Gava, who received a Senior Black Belt Award. Our first training night for 2010 will be held on Wednesday, 3 February starting at 7pm for the first mat, with second mat from 8.10pm to 9.30pm in the Wally Webster Hall.
