
Have you ever wanted to give lawn bowls a try?
Wenty Men’s Bowling Club encourages anyone interested to come and give it a go! If you enjoy the game and are interested in becoming further involved then coaching is available at no extra cost and they will even supply the bowls for you. All you require to get started is a pair of flat soled shoes.
If you are interested in playing lawn bowls, contact Dennis Harmer at the club (Bowls Coordinator – 9896 3581). Dennis is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday through Sunday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Alternatively outside of those hours you can contact Paul Wright anytime (Bowls Secretary – 0403 594 710) and he can make arrangements with Dennis.

The Men’s Bowling Club has completed 2009 on a highnote. For the first time the Club introduced nominationsfrom Sporting Clubs for players, teams and officials who were outstanding in 2009. The male Sportsman ofthe Year was Steve Morris, our Club Singles Champion,Pairs Champion, Zone 10 representative and Zone 10skipper. The club also nominated a Team of the Year,Coach of the Year, Club of the Year and a “Man Friday”of the year.
A week after this event the bowlers held their Presentation Night, one of its most successful in recentyears. On this night two prestigious awards were presented. The Bowler of the Year Trophy was won bySteve Morris. Also prominent in the count were GaryReynolds and John Sunderland.
The Most Improved Bowler of the Year Award went toGrant Zahra. Grant was in the winning Major Foursteam, played Pennants for the Club, was selected in the Zone 10 Development team and attained his Level 1Umpires Certificate.
Anyone wishing to try the game of lawn bowls, including Juniors (10 – 18yrs) are most welcome. If you areinterested contact the Bowls Secretary Paul Wright 98963581 or 0403594710. We have coaching andbowls available to assist you, if you wish to try the game.
